Got a brand new 2018 8GB/256GB MacBook Air. Using it in same place as old MacBook which I just broke :(

Anyway, the new MBA has lost WiFi connectivity multiple times in the last few days where the MB was stable. I've never had a WiFI problem with the MB, but have seen it enough with the new MBA to rule out a one time oddity.

Anyone else seeing WiFi dropouts with the new 2018 MBA? I'm on latest Mojave (10.14.2).

Thanks!

No, I did not notice any connection problems so far. I am using mine since mid november and it is running 10.14.2 at the moment.

Using Google WiFi in a two puck mesh setup. Haven't had any connection issues anywhere in the house. Check the channel your router is using, take note of it, reboot your router and see if its using the same channel. If so, manually change it and see if that helps with the connection. This would be the first thing I would do if I had connection issues, especially if another device is not exhibiting the behavior.

Yes, I have had this issue on the 2018 MBA. The fix has been to turn off and turn on wifi again. I did not have this issue with the 2015 11" MBA.

Are you having these issues in clamshell mode, or in normal mode sitting on the couch? I am not sure but I think that the 2018 MBA may deal with signal interference issues particularly in clamshell mode near an HD monitor and other devices.

I'm also curious, do you hear the "power" sound intermittently--which is a chime heard normally when you plug the laptop into a powering USB C connector.

I previously posted about this here: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/wi-fi-signals-interference-from-2018-macbook-air.2158802/

No wifi issues here. I mostly use the MBA about 20m from the router, diagonally through the property, and passing through a number of walls and the kitchen with various electrical devices.

I have lost wifi several times. I am not a power user but have also noticed the Air is slow to load web pages. I have checked my connection speed and its good. Anyone else notice this?
