2018 MacBook Pro app launching speed

I've had my 2018 13" MBP for a few weeks and love it but one thing bothers me. I did a clean install of Mojave and notice that my 2015 15" MBP launches applications faster than the 2018. The difference is not great mind you, but the 2018 SSD is benchmarking at 2800 read speeds while the 2015 comes in at 1800. Both are 512GB SSDs. Any ideas? Thanks!

Like I said, the difference isn't great. Word opens in 5 secs on 2015 and 6 secs on 2018. With the 2018 being faster in every way to the 2015 and a fresh install, I was surprised that the 2018 is slower. The same is true for Excel, One Note, Powerpoint. Some programs open at the same speed, but the 2018 never opens an application faster than the 2015.

What cpu ghz you have on 2015 and what on 2018 because those apps are based on ghz clock speed
I guess you have higher clock cpu on 2015?

Do you have iCloud Drive in use? It makes everything slower as it checks the cloud every time if there is newer version of files when opening spreadsheets etc. I had it on my 2012 MBP and with 2018 MBP I didn't enable it, much faster user experience.

I guess you have higher clock cpu on 2015?

I have the i7 in the 2018 and it is faster in both single and multicore scores than the 2015.

then in your 2018 you have icloud drive enabled?
For me with it enabled also it takes a second long vs when i have it disabled

I did have iCloud Drive enabled but it was enabled on both machines. I turned it off but I'm not seeing any difference in launch speed. Thanks for the suggesting.
