2018 MBP built in kb/trackpad dead on startup

Hello guys,

So as the title says, I'm experiencing an issue where in 1 out of 5 startups, the keyboard and mouse just won't respond. A force shutdown and reboot fixes it. I don't have anything plugged in to the machine.

If i plug in a mouse, it works. Meaning that the computer isn't frozen.

Any idea?

Try the usual resets, if not working, take it back to Apple for replacement.

Do you use bootcamp? I recall many noting this happens after bootcamp shutdowns.

I do, actually. You might be right because I had just used Bootcamp. I guess then it's just a software issue, I'm relieved.

So when using macOS, does this issue present itself?

It happens to me if when I go from Windows to Mac OS via the Bootcamp option of "restart in OS X".

If I shut down the laptop from Windows and then manually restart holding down the option key, all works fine.

It is a software problem that should be fixed. Does not effect me as I use is Win10 except for an occasion update check for Mac.

Has it happened to you again in MacOs? Mine has the same problem but i don't use bootcamp.
