Hello everyone!
I’m currently using the baseline 2017 13” MacBook Pro. I’m a hobbyist photographer and editing photos in Capture One Pro.
The MacBook works mostly fine, but when it comes to local adjustments, using layers and masks- I often get the ’spinning wheel’, the device gets very hot and unresponsive.
I'm thinking of upgrading my MacBook pro to one of the 2018 models to solve this issue. My question is- will the 13” 2018 MBP be enough of an upgrade to get rid of the issues I have, or is it better to opt for the 15” model?
Will the dedicated GPU in the 15” model make difference in processing local adjustments?
Will the difference between LPDDR3 and DDR4 RAM be noticeable?
Will the extra 2 cores be useful, or are they an overkill for photo editing?
I like the form factor and the portability of the 13”, and wouldn't want to spend the extra $700 on the 15” if it won't be a useful upgrade compared with the 2018 13”.
