I have had a mid-2012 13" MBA just over 6 years now. It's been a good machine.
I am looking at upgrading to either the base 13" MBP customized to 16GB RAM and either a 512GB or 1TB SSD. OR to a 15" MBP, same RAM and SSD.
My 13" has been very good and I like the 3LB weight but the screen always seemed a bit small. I currently have a mid-2015 15" MBP on loan to me but it is a tough comparison as the mid-2015 is a 4.5LB machine and the 2016-2018s are 4LBs.
1. When I use this 15" on my lab I notice it gets warm doing minor tasks like web and mail and certainly video. Is the 2018 going to run cooler than the 2015?
2. Is the 13" going to be warmer too than say my Air?
3. My main considerations between the 13" and 15" 2018 models is the extra weight of the 15" and any noticeable heat from the laptop compared to my Air. I like the 15" better but don't want to feel like I got a hot rock.
Any feedback would be great.
