2018 MBP won't power on even if the battery is at 60% ?

I can use the laptop on the battery just fine but then if I leave it uncharged and I turn it on later it shuts off "dead" after I log on even if the battery is at 60% of charge!? The battery life is at 83%. Are there any suggestions on what I can personally do to help this issue or should I take it into the apple store?
I already reset the SMC/NVRAM
