Was wondering if anyone has purchased a spare 87 watt power adaptor, in the MacRumors review of the 2018 MBPro it was mentioned that Apple redesigned the adaptor with a model number of A1947, looking in the online Apple store there is only one listed with no part/model number. Are they interchangeable?

I have a 2018 15"/i9 machine. I purchased it to replace a 2017 model, which I had to 87W adapters for. I kept one and the one that came with the 2017 was included with it when I sold it on craigslist. Both of those worked fine with my 2018. I think it's the power adapter that comes with the 13" model that was changed and not the 15"; but I could be mistaken.

I ordered an extra 87 watt USB-C adapter when I bought my new MBP.

Mine says A1719 on the one they sent me, have not even removed it from the box. Not sure what the adapter model is that they included with the laptop. If it is 87 watts, is should work fine.

I just reread the article and it is the 13” inch with the revised power adapter
