Do y'all think the new MBP will also be affected by the delimitation of the AR coating like the earlier Retina generations? I'm just curious if I should protect the screen from the keyboard like the old ones.

The new MBPs seems to have the same delamination issues.

Lots of screen cleaning seems to be a factor in the process.

The new MacBooks continue to use the same VERY THIN "sprayed on" anti-glare coating.

As such, they're as susceptible to screen damage as the older models.

The best way to "preserve" the anti-glare coating is to treat it as carefully as possible, and to "clean it" as little as possible. The trick here is to keep it from "getting dirty" in the first place.

Don't "wipe" the surface unless ABSOLUTELY required to remove something.
Instead, use a soft cloth and just "dust it" across the surface of the display.

Thanks for tips. This is the first "brand new" Mac purchase I have ever made. I have always generally just bought second hand, but I couldn't pass on the deal I got.

Ugh... more issues. Keyboard-gate, battery-gate, and now screen coating-gate. What else?
soldered ram & ssd -> upgrade not possible, T2 chip -> no linux installation on internal ssd, no magsafe charging connector, missing ports used in real world (hdmi, sdcard, usb-a), no matte screen option, obligatory touchbar -> missing escape and function keys

let's see where apple is heading with the new macbooks this fall and next year, but i'm seriously thinking about abandoning ship and switching to linux after 17 years on apple laptops.
