I bought a 2019 Air new in March. Since then, I've had a few issues...

--Two keys have nearly gotten stuck (common with the Butterfly, I know, but still bad)
--Lots of random restarts
--Word mysteriously stopped working and needed to be reinstalled
--Speakers sounded like they were blowing

...and these MAJOR display issues...

--A few weeks ago, the display started going black (but still on, I could see the backlight) every so often when waking from sleep
--Today, the display stopped working altogether and only displays pink bars, if you're lucky!

My guess is that it's related to the cable (the one that sometimes gets blamed for 2016-2017 MacBook Pro problems).

Any other theories? It hasn't been knocked around, dropped off a building, etc. On the rare occasions I've taken it someplace, it's gone in a quality Tumi laptop bag and has usually just gone a few miles up the road when I've checked in on family members and need to work while there. (Its longest trip was home from the Apple Store I bought it at!)

There have been no liquids, etc dropped down it. The computer does run hot, especially when on Skype.

I was going to buy AppleCare for this, yet I had some issues getting it. I bough this computer the week before the shutdown and didn't expect for that to happen in the US, so I put the purchase off just to not spend as much cash at once. The 90 day window came and went (I had intended to go back in April to get AppleCare). Now I'm stuck with a lemon of a computer that I still need to pull data from (I'll have to use an adapter for a VGA monitor for this). Will this still be serviceable under US warranty or should I just trade it in for store credit and finally upgrade my 2016 era iPhone?

I need a computer ASAP for work and will be buying a new one tomorrow because I know the turnaround for this machine will be too much.
