Hi, Im currently using 2017 late i7 16GB model MacBook pro for my youtube and I edit 3 videos in a day regularly.
And all footages are mostly 4K or 6K.

The 2017 actually goes very slow when I do that for rendering or exporting.

I was looking at the i9 model 2019 64GB or 32GB maybe with 8GB graphics.
Its getting very expensive around 4500$.

But is it worth it for an editor ?
I mean, is the render and export processing, etc time will be 10x faster than 2017 ?

I did some random 4k testing 2-3 weeks ago and it was quick. I imagine a few people here have far more experience of if than me.

Plenty of reviews on YT demonstrate times and comparisons. IMO i9 64Gb 8Gb will smash out 4k and above without any issues.

Is that worth $4500? Only you can decide that.

Can't really use the iMac Pro in the field. I just got one of the people here a nearly maxed-out 16" (only 4TB SSD, rest is max) for video editing on the move. Ideally, he wanted an eGPU but I couldn't commit to that right now. I'm certain he'll have 4K files to work with, but most will be 1080i. If you need to be mobile, you can get other non-mac mobile workstations that are more powerful, e.g. from Lenovo, but don't expect those to be cheaper...
