are folks still liking their 2019 MBA? was thinking of either a 12" MB or a 2019 MBA as a "light" side computer.. .but reading all this makes me question a bit... lol.... wondering now if I should pick up a 13" MBP perhaps- (budget version) - basically need one at home and office. I have always wanted the 12" MB BUT afraid now since it has been discontinued (regarding support) and rather small screen.... could overlap with my 11" ipad PRO....any input on the MBA appreciated.. thx

Just what was it that you are looking for portability or screen estate ?

given of comments makes me feel folks aren’t really passionate about the air .....

All in all there aint not much changes in MBA. Giving one or two functionality differences without much of a radical change aint gonna cut it no more.

For a change how about Apple Pen use-ability and touch screen capability on board ,, I am never in a personal favor of a boring touchbar though. Why having a limited touch and control when you can have a whole screen to begin with.

Plenty of people are passionate about the Air. Go out to Best Buy's website and read some of the comments.
Better than that I picked one up tonight ! Mainly because it was a good desk at Best Buy, $1,050 for 255gb! Excited to see how it goes! The update is taking a while tho :) love the form factor ! Sure to be easier in my hands .....

They were selling the 2018 with 16/512 for 1100 or 1200.

How do you like it so far?
So far it’s great! Especially for the money! sure I get it’s not as crisp display as the MBP but honestly it’s very close ! Love the shape and thinness and light weight... the keyboard for some reason and I don’t know why seems
“Clicker” than the current MBP for example. We’ll see in the coming days. Great little machine this far!

I love my 2019 MBA. Honestly couldn't be happier with it. Just sitting here writing this reply I can't really think of any gripes I have with it.

The negative posts on MR always seem to drown out any positive sentiment a product may have. My wife loves her 2019 MBA, it's by far her favourite notebook and she even loves the KB. FWIW She's a college instructor who works mainly in VMWare and O365 and types a lot. On a recent road trip I left my 13 MBP at home and we opted to travel with just her MBA and it was great. I don't know if it's the form factor, the tapered design, weight etc... something about it makes it feel much more portable and pleasant to use away from the desk.

My 2019 mba is a great machine. It is expensive compared to windows counterparts but I’m stuck in apple ecosystem so that’s the price I’m paying for.

Just picked up a 2019 base model, and it's surprisingly capable. I also have a 15" MBP, and I find myself using this one much more, unless there's some heavy lifting to do. I'm not saying you can't do some light iMovie work with it though. The price really makes it attractive.

I have owned my 2019 MBA for about 3 weeks and I am very satisfied. I bought the base model because my needs are pretty simple. Primarily email, web and productivity Apps (mainly iWork). So far, everything is operating smoothly.....and, no keyboard issue......but, still very early.

I decided that the improved 4th gen keyboard plus 4 year warranty were enough of a safety net for me. However, I am retired, and other than some family real estate business and community committee work, most of my computing activity is not terribly time sensitive. I can tolerate a little downtime if the MBA keyboard needs repairs.

My youngest son is a college freshman, and I bought him the 2017 MBA because we didn’t want to take a risk on keyboard reliability issues when term paper deadlines loom.
