Hi, I am interested in the 2019 MBP as I hear some good things about it this time. Could existing users please share data on battery life and fan noise?

Under Mac OS and Windows 10, are they quiet when running productivity work, playing 4K videos with /without connecting to an external 4K display. Are the 2019 MBP as warm as those Razer Blade laptops even when idling and running office? How is the battery life when running office applications under Windows 10 and Mac OS?

Please mention your configurations. Thanks.

Seeing as you haven't gotten any responses yet - I will chime in. I only have a 2017 13" which you can see the specs of in my signature. This is one of the coolest and quietest MacBook Pros I have ever owned. I am hard pressed to get the fans to ramp up. Currently, as I browse the web and have Parallels open running Windows 10, a few Excel spreadsheets, Word, and OneNote open, my fans are completely off and the CPU is sitting at 34C and the case is room temperature.

After watching a 15 minute 4K video on the internal screen the CPU is hovering around 60C with the fan at 1250rpm which is the minimum they can run at and is still completely silent. The case is warm, but nowhere near hot. A few times during really heavy work in Photoshop or Lightroom the fans have ramped up to 3000rpm or so, which is still a pretty quiet speed. The case can get hot during really heavy work though - I wouldn't do it on your lap.

As for battery life - battery life can tank pretty fast if you're consistently doing heavy work. Just running Excel, Word, Powerpoint though I get about 8 hours. The biggest thing is to make sure to keep screen brightness under 75% as it gets very bright and can eat up a ton of power. 15" will have longer battery life if that's what you desire.

Update: 10 minutes after watching the 4K the fans are back to being off and the CPU is back to 36C.

Thanks. I have tried MBP 2017 13" and several Lenovo laptops. Based on memory, the MBP 13" 2017 is the only one that is quite all the time. Too bad Apple is still using butterfly keyboard in 2019. I am a bit hesitate to drop $5K on a machine that can have keyboard failure anytime.

I definitely understand. I bought AppleCare with mine for peace of mind as I also carry it around with me all day every day. For what it's worth, mine has been perfectly solid ever since I got it over a year ago. I have eaten over it, it never really gets cleaned, and it goes with me in and out of my backpack 7 days a week in college.

I have the 15" 2019 don't operate exactly those conditions you mention, however, I do load it up pretty good and rarely hear the fan, if I do barely... battery life is good IMO - under heavy use, end up at 40 % left... sorry not firm data but don't think you have a lot to worry about with this model!
