I can’t possibly be the ONLY person on the planet that actually likes this computer & the Touch Bar. I’m not a traditional developer or coder, & I REALLY like the Touch Bar. Like, I’m holding off on buying an Mx powered MBP because I like using the Touch Bar.

Granted, for my workflows, the Intel i9 actually keeps up pretty well- sure, it’s laggy, but I’m not waiting for it, & as it stands today, ‘time isn’t money’ for me with this laptop; but I do light 4K video editing in FCP, I use Logic, Pages, Numbers, etc. and recently, I just built an iOS app using Cursor > Claude Code > Xcode & it was fine.

Am I seriously the only one? What am I missing? (Frankly, I kinda don’t care, because it works for me, but I’m genuinely curious)

I never "minded" the Touch Bar, but never really embraced it either - because it was never brought to desktops and I switch back-and-forth between MacBook and desktop a lot. So, I "had to" know how to do everything WITHOUT the Touch Bar.

You’re officially now the “only one” as I just ordered a MBP M5 and will retire my 2019 i9 TouchBar MBPs. 😉

To be fair, I was more aligned with @FreakinEurekan in that I “didn’t mind” the TouchBar, but also never really embraced it. Whenever I reinstalled macOS first thing I’d do is turn off Natural Scrolling and second thing I’d do is set the TouchBar to default functions of a standard Mac keyboard.

As another 2019 i9 MBP owner, I have to say I don't mind the touch bar. I don't think its ever improved usability or practicality for me. Its more the concept and implementation that I like, it looks a bit futuristic and adds pizazz. But in reality, I accidentally brush against it often enough to be an annoyance. I find the lack of physical volume and brightness brightness buttons to slow me down. In every practical way it's a step back, but I know I'll miss the way it looks when upgrading to a new MBP.
