I'm a graphic designer and heavy user of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator. For my workflow, I often have all three open at once, while I edit photos provided to me by photographers that are anywhere from 80-450MB. Often, many at once, since I'm placing them into InDesign files with many pages.

I'm going to replace my late-2015 iMac soon with a new 2020, and not sure which graphics card to get. I don't do video or gaming, so does the card matter for the above applications? My 2015 is unbearably slow and clunky with the setup in the screenshot, if anyone is curious.

Thank you! I've been researching the graphics card options since the new iMacs came out last week, and I still can't figure out which to order

I am surprised no one responded to your question. I am thinking about moving back to a desktop setup and have a similar use as you. I also do some video editing on top of it. There is no doubt that any of the options on offer will be enough to run InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator and a whole bunch of other things concurrently and smoothly.

I would say at the minimum the 5500XT would suffice. You'll get significant improvement moving to 5700 and even more stepping up to 5700XT. On the other hand, the gains may not justify the cost.

There are a few very solid threads in the forum. Use the search function and you'll find a lot of info.
