As the title says just bought a new MacBook Air M1 and noticed the bottom cover plate isn’t flush on the corners, the seams between the plate and bottom casing is flush along all the sidew until it gets to the corners where you can catch a finger nail on it the plate sits a bit proud.

Anybody else experienced this

Thanks

Yes I was looking for answers to this too. The right upper corner (when laptop is right way up with display facing me) is where the back cover doesn't sit flush. The left side is flush..

It's been a while since your post, but I noticed this on a new MacBook Air M1 today. What did you end up doing? I'm not likely to go back to apple on it since it seems rather minor, but it is slightly bugging me lol.

I didn't do anything, I eventually just accepted it. I think the issue is the screw is not fastened fully. I didnt have the correct screw driver to prove this though.

Yeah I suspect it’s also just a loose screw issue rather than something more serious like a swollen battery or crammed internals. And I’d rather not go through the hassle of resetting the MBA, going to the store getting a new one. And possibly having the same issue. So I’m guessing yours has been working fine otherwise?

I purchased an M1 MacBook Air from the Apple Store last year that had a warped bottom plate. It rocked sitting on a flat surface. For the cost of it I wasn't going to accept that defect. I returned it for a refund and re-ordered another one. Fortunately it had a flat bottom plate.

Oh wow yeah I’d definitely not accept one that didn’t sit flat. Good call returning it. I’ll double check mine when I get home, but I think it sits flat. The issue is that at the corners, the bottom plate sits a little proud, and isnt perfectly flush like it is along the edges. I think it’s minor, and other than just feeling annoyed about it, I don’t think it’s problematic or poorly made hopefully.
