I read on 9to5Mac and Forbes websites that Apple is releasing a special 128GB configuration for the Education market only and is priced at $799. No one at Apple I’ve contacted has heard of this. Does anyone know more about this? I contacted the authors but have not heard back.

See:

“For education customers, Apple is also offering an exclusive 128GB MacBook Air configuration that is priced at $799.”

and

“Apple has a new MacBook Air that will only be available in the education market.
Meet the new $799 MacBook Air.
Two major decisions have allowed Apple to reach this lower price point. The first is the educational market discount as seen in the base model, and the second comes down to the lower internal storage. This laptop ships with 128 GB of storage.”

I’m sure it’s only for schools, but if made for student and teacher personal use, I’d consider it. I don’t think I come close to using that much storage with everything in the cloud these days

Agreed, I really want to buy the 128GB version for $799 but Apple Education Sales insists that configuration doesn’t exist!
