2020 MacBook Air i5 is a beast

I picked up the 256gb MacBook Air from Costco for $1049. Tested it out in store against the 2019 MacBook Pro and they seemed comparable.

Got home and installed world of warcraft. Settings 2048x1280 resolution with low settings. Playing in Stormwind with tons of other players around getting 40-60 FPS with no issues at all. The fan comes on after about 5-10 minutes of gameplay but isn't loud at all. The crazy part is the computer performs well whether plugged in or running on battery, no difference that I can tell. I am very happy with the performance of the laptop doing everything else. Opening programs, visiting websites, editing on Final Cut Pro. Nothing slows this laptop down. By far the best value you can get buying an Apple laptop in 2020.

They had this model in stock at the store?? I thought they only carried the base model in the store.

Edit: I also just bought this model, but I had to order it from Costco.com. It will be here Monday.

Great to hear this is working well for you, how have you found zoom and MS Teams for video conferencing? There are a number of people who are seeing issues with this, not sure if this is early model teething problems or not?Would be interesting to hear your feedback.

No issue with Zoom here. What issues being reported (besides the low quality camera in general on all MacBooks)?
