Was surprised that the speed of the 2020 13" MBP is slower than the 2018 MBP, by quite a margin.
Both devices have Filevault on. Anyone else seeing this?

2020
Write 1263 MB/s (30% slower)
Read 1535 (40% slower)

2018
Write 1830 MB/s
Read 2585

That was a great year of Apple products. First time quad core in 13 inch. Also greatest SSD speeds across the line.
Since then they have realized that you can save money by installing slower SSD and people won't notice.
I don't like that much this Blackmagic speed test, because it tests only sequential speeds.
Seq.speed is great for transferring large/single files(ex. movie 4k). But it doesn't count speeds of transferring docs/songs/data/app data.
So unless you do more detailed speed tests, it is hard to say which SSD is better. Since 2018 SSD was better than the market at Seq. write and read, but were noticeably worse in terms of small/medium files transfer speeds.
