2020 MBP 13" lagging with internal retina, but not with external display?

Just bought a 2020 MBP 13" (intel iris), did a fresh install of OSX big sur, but it is just incredibly laggy - typing, scrolling. Not at all smooth. The strange thing is if I connect it to an external monitor the problem goes away. Any suggestions? I have the Intel iris 645 graphics card, and only that, so I cannot force graphics card.

That's weird, mine doesn't have any issues on Big Sur 11.5.2. Maybe try another fresh install?

Very strange, mine does not do that. Does not sound normal. Sounds like it might be throttling? Have you checked the cpu speed?
