Hi, I've just got a 2020 MBP 13 - looked good until I looked at the screen from the side, and all I can see is ripples all over the screen surface, looks like there is a coating on the screen that isn't totally smooth. You can see it when focusing on the screen itself not the reflection.

Compared to my 2015 it is a lot more noticeable, barely noticeable at all on the 2015 but very noticeable on the 2020.

Do I have a bad one or is this standard?

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

I too have a 2015 who doesn't look like that, and 2 2020 who look like that. So I guess that's normal now. Maybe they changed the coating from 2016, because of all the coating issues they had with the first generations of retina MBP.
