Hi guys. I'm coming from a mid 2015 MBP. I do a lot of dev work and finally got tired of the fan running non-stop. I also wanted the bump to a 16" screen. These computers have come a long way since 2015.
I have one question. I have always had trackpad tapping turned on when using MacBooks. It's nice not to have to click all the time. I've noticed that when I tap on the trackpad on the new MBP, it has a very hollow sound to it, almost like it's vibrating a bit. I was wondering if this is normal. The trackpad on these newer computers is much larger than the small one on my 2015 MBP, so I suspect it might be different because of the size and just something to get used to. I also notice that typing sounds different and a bit hollow, at least to me. I think that the internal components must also be smaller and lighter, leaving more empty space for the tapping to echo. This new 16" MBP might be heavier than my 2015 MBP, but the 2015 MBP is a brick. No hollow sound there at all.
Anyway, thanks. I hope that everyone is enjoying their new purchases. I've only begun using it and haven't loaded all of my dev tools yet, but it seems like a very nice computer.
