I have the M4 13" & MKB.

1) I always lay a thin microfiber cloth on the keyboard before closing it so the scratch issue won't occur and I'll have the cloth with me.

2) He has an extreme tilt to the iPad so it becomes more backweighted - I don't do that.

Regarding No 2. if you're using it in bed with the keyboard on your chest/stomach, will it still rock?

I wonder if the 2nd problem could be solved with a thin felt strip: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09YY29H63/

Don't know, I never use it in bed with the keyboard on my chest/stomach. But it's a basic issue with tablets and keyboards - they're not like laptops with the greater weight on the keyboard element. Tablets + keyboards are top heavy. One option is a Logitech with the kickstand. I had one with my M1 12.9 but didn't care for the large footprint or the heavy cover on the iPad.

I've never used a keyboard case with iPad; this would be my first time. I want to see if I can use the iPP as a laptop replacement for simple tasks, hence my Qs.

Quick follow up question: I was surprised to find out that the keyboard doesn't have a built-in battery. How much of an impact does this have on the battery life of the 11-inch iPad Pro? Minimal or significant?

On the 13", it is not at all noticeable - it is insignificant.

I played around with the 11-inch iPad Pro on the Magic Keyboard this last weekend at the Apple Store. I also didn't find rocking to be an issue, just like you guys said.

I already have a 12.9" M2 iPP that I use for note-taking. That size is kinda awkward to carry around in your hand when on public transport, etc. I'm looking to get either an 11" M2 iPP or 11" M4 iPP. The keyboard and display seem to be the only improvements (not sure what the M4 can do on iPadOS that the M2 can't). The M2 has WiFi-6E and Bluetooth 5.3 and it actually has mmWave 5G and a physical SIM, which the M4 lacks. The 11" M2 1TB is $1100 at Best Buy and the 11" M4 1TB is $1675 on Amazon.
