That is what chat rep said. My issue could be a power cord because won’t turn on but they won’t mail me a new power cord. Just gotta go to Genius Bar.

And Apple started adding select Best Buy locations for previous Genius Bar only items like Apple displays. Any one try? I called some of them and they refused to take Apple displays……

Apple won't just mail out a new power cord in hopes that it solves your issue. Do you have another power cord that you can try and see if it proves that's the cause?

It also just uses a general three prong ground adapter… a typical tech shop would have it. Even lower than Apple selling it.

But if you want the genuine Apple one or third party one eBay and Amazon has some spares being sold.
