You're one of those fools I referred to earlier if you're making incredibly broad and therefore silly statements like "renewable energy is now cheaper than fossil fuels". Please, wake up.
Also, it might not occur to you that it's BECAUSE Apple is the most profitable company in the world that they can afford luxuries like its environmental efforts. Those efforts aren't so affordable or make "financial sense" without a massive upfront investment that most companies can't afford.
Apple's spaceship campus is a perfect example: its a thoroughly modern building but an incredibly expensive one on every level -- design, land acquisition, building materials, government lobbying and coordination, etc. Not a realistic effort for most entities that don't happen to be one of the world's most profitable companies.
I'm not sure you meant to, but I think you just made a great argument for why successful environmental policy has to (in part at least) come from governments and cannot be left to industry and the public on their own, as some seem to desire. Yes, Apple can afford to do good stuff with their pile of money. But the more important point is that none of us, as a species, can afford to carry on how we have been for the last 100+ years if we want a climate as stable as we have enjoyed in that time and earlier.
If it's left to 'the market', you're right, many companies just won't find the money because they will see it as everyone else's problem, and to their disadvantage. It needs to be a level playing field where everyone agrees to act - in that way the economic pressures become more equalised.
But that's still not a reason for companies like Apple who are successful enough to have the money to not do more. And when they do, that's a win for everyone.
And renewable energy has always had the potential to be much cheaper than extracting and burning fossil fuels. It's free, abundant and there for the taking if only we invested in harvesting it better, (as we have been doing in recent years thankfully, but still not enough). I mean actually when you think about it renewable energy is the only reason we are all living and breathing right now... for multiple reasons.
