Well to be honest, I think it's old news, but to each his own. :)

I'm perfectly happy with my 5GB iPod. At this point I couldn't justify using 20GB of portable music and/or pictures/files. But I'm sure there's plenty of people out there who could...

Well now, I only said what I think. :) There's probably plenty of people out there who haven't read it yet! (The story was posted only two days ago... shows what little life I have outside of here where a story that's two days old is "old news"... LOL :) )

That'd be why I hadn't seen it, I haven't been round much lately. :( :D

Yep, that would be me. I have over 10GB of music, mostly ripped from CDs, all of which are 192Kbps or higher with VBR encoding. A 20 GB iPod doubling as an external HDD does not look bad at all. :)

And if Apple releases a $999 iBook, I think I just found my next computer set-up, iPod included. :D

I didn't even know that Toshiba had got the 20Gb drive down to the same physical size as the 5Gb and 10Gb allready used in the iPod, how long ago did this happen?
