It's not on the web, but it's a good little review, so I typed it up quick :)
T3 Magazine, Issue 97, April 2004:
Apple wasn’t the first to build a hard disk MP£ jukebox, but it was the first to design one small enough to take anywhere. Try as they might, the company’s competitors have found it impossible to trump the iPod’s gorgeous design.
The good: There are three reasons to buy this model – it looks great, it’s small and the user interface is extremely simple. Others may have more features, but none can match this as an overall package.
The bad: At around eight hours, the battery life compares poorly to those of newer players, which generally keep banging out tunes for about 15 hours. Also, the copyright protection is overly nanny-ish – you can’t copy tunes from the device back to the computer, as you can with others here.
The verdict: You can get more features for your money elseware, but the alternatives are also larger, uglier and harder to use. This is just a classic piece of engineering. Actually, it’s more than that – It’s the new Walkman.

Performance: 5 Star
Value: 4 Star
Overall: 5 Star
Of the other 4 or 5 players reviewed in the round up, none even came close  Should be getting my 20GB next week :D
