Hello,

I've got a 20in iMac and as it has a low quality TN display, I'm thinking of adding a second-hand 20in Apple Cinema Display.

Just wondering if it will offer better colour accuracy than the iMac.

The higher quality IPS displays only seem to come in 24in or bigger sizes.

When you've used a 20" Cinema Display you'll know how ridiculously useless that review is. Biased and totally misleading. The Apple 20" is one of the best displays I have ever seen (and used).

I fully agree, I used them for 3 semesters in college for Photography courses and they worked beautifully.

Thanks for the feedback.

I'm just looking for something with accurate colour.

What do you think of the 20in Studio Display?

I can get it for about half as much as the Cinema Display.

I have used both, the 20" Cinema is definitely better than the 20" iMac (I've used the white version iMac).

As for ones in the link, you'll need a DVI -> ADC converter, they cost a bit so be sure to factor that in.
Btw the Studio displays were available 17" and less. The older 20" is still a "Cinema Display".

Older white ACD's are not as bright as the new aluminum ACD's therefore not suitable for all locations. They're still great though if you don't mind the adapter and have good enough control for the ambient light in your room...
