21.5" as second display for primary 21.5"?

Does anyone know if it's possible to use another 21.5" iMac as a secondary display for my primary 21.5"? Every video, article, thread, etc that I see online seems to only talk about doing it with a 27" but I don't want to fork up the money for a 27" plus I like to have matching size displays. I'd rather try and locate a used 21.5" and use that.

Has anyone reading tried this?

No, you can't. Only the 27" supports operating as a monitor via the Thunderbolt port.
