Hi guys

I need help

I'd like to ask a recommendation from the iMac veterans

I am choosing between the two

21.5" entry level + Fusion Drive

vs.

21.5" high end with dedicated GPU

if you were in my shoes which will you choose?

I will use it primarily for the following

Microsoft Office
keynote, numbers, pages
Photoshop
iMovie
DOTA 2
Diablo 3
Web Browsing
skype

High - work stuff

Medium - gaming and Photoshop/Lightroom

Low - Video Editing using iMovie

The GT 750M isn't that much faster compared to the Iris Pro 5200. See the AnandTech comparison (they compare the 650M but the 750M is a 650M with higher clocks and turbo).

Don't forget, with the 750M model, you also get a faster CPU, though that's more than offset by the slower disk I/O from not having a Fusion Drive. See AnandTech's analysis. Keep in mind that the SSD of the Fusion Drive now PCI-e based, so it's even faster now in the late 2013 model than at the time of Anand's tests.

If I were you, I'd go with the Fusion Drive. Full disclosure: I'm getting that one too ;).

I just bought the high end 21" and tried out Dirt 2 on it and got 70-100fps maxed out. When I tried it on a 15inch rMBP with i7 and the Iris Pro, it struggled to get 30fps. Defiantly a difference. I think it was worth the money for the upgrade :) If you wish to have your IMac a long time; I suggest you go for the upgraded one ; remember the Iris Pro will use system RAM as VRAM.
