21.5" iMac upgradable to 3TB fusion?

I know that officially, it can't be done. I was thinking of getting the 1TB fusion option and upgrade myself to a 3TB drive, hoping that the fusion would still work. Is it possible?

There are no 3TB laptop drives to put in there, if one is released, then yes it is possible.
