21.5 mid-2011 - Replacement HDD possible?

I'm looking to replace my HDD for a larger and, hopefully, quieter one. The seeking noise is very annoying to me. I have heard that replacing these causes the fans to run at full speed. Are there any ways to stop this from happening?

Also, can anyone recommend a good, quiet, 7200rpm 1TB HDD? :)
