I am looking to buy an imac, and I have a question about the difference of the screen between the 21 inch imac and the 27 inch imac. Is the 27 in imac going to have a better picture than the 21 inch imac becaue of more pixel density? Or is it going to have the same quality of screen as the 21 inch imac, but it will just be better. Does anyone know how many pixels per square inch are in the 27 in. imac? Is it different than the pixel number per square inch of the 21 inch imac?

The 21.5" iMac is 1920x1080 at 202ppi. The 27.0" iMac is 2560x1440 at 208ppi.

The 21.5" iMac is 2.07MP. The 27.0" iMac is 3.69MP. The 27.0" iMac has 78% more pixels.

Does it have more pixels just to fill the extra space of the 27 inch screen, or do they make the screen a better screen?

Define: "better".

What you're asking is ambiguous. Also keep in mind that Apple does not manufacture LCD panels. They source them from suppliers. The 27.0" iMac uses an LG panel. Not sure on the 21.5" off-hand (fairly certain it's also an LG).
