Would someone like to start a guide for us macbook owners looking to upgrade?

It would be nice to have all that information in one place.

I agree - that would be really useful. Maybe it could include info about MB compatible stuff as it gets released (bigger HDDs that will fit in the MB etc)

Ok so seeing as nobody else has had a go, here's the start of mine.

http://guides.macrumors.com/Upgrade_Guide:_MacBook

It's linked from this page too:

http://guides.macrumors.com/Upgrade_Guide

Which I figure is a good way to start - having a start page people can navigate from to choose how to upgrade a Mac.

Seeing as I don't have a MacBook it'll take a little while to write, but seeing as I'm not doing anything constructive at work I'll make a start now 🙄

I've reorganised things a bit to fit in better with the organisation and naming schemes of the Guides. The "Upgrade Guide" page has been replaced by a category and the other pages have been renamed (eg "Upgrade Guide: MacBook" has been renamed to "[guide]MacBook Upgrade Guide[/guide]").

exactly what i wanted to do, i'm just not that clever. (read: haven't created new pages on the guide before)...

🙄

thanks HexMonkey!

What I think would be really helpful would be a buyers guide for the RAM modules and hard drive themselves. Best prices, most reliable, best for UK and other countries etc. Buying memory seems a bit of a minefield to a lot of us..

hi guys
I found this thread through google, and
I've been writing a few guides for my site, Black MacBook Guides
Sorry for plugging my own site, but I think it'll answer some of the questions being asked here.

Great idea guys. I'm still trying to decide on a harddrive and hoping for a price drop on a 160gb!

Any recommendations for a site to buy RAM for the MB in the U.K.? I've looked at www.scan.co.uk and they seem to offer quite good price and service, has anyone dealt with this site before?
