I would pick up that $1299 iMac if Apple allowed target display mode again as it would make for one heck of an affordable, yet beautiful secondary 5K display. Otherwise with a 1TB Fusion drive it's kind of trash. But for $1299 it might be worth voiding the warranty to open it up and install an SSD.

Really want that 16/512 MacBook Air for $650 off! But wondering if new ones with a better keyboard are right around the corner. But then again, that’s such a huge discount!

Indeed, really tempting. I'm deciding between this one and the base Pro, and even then, this Air configuration comes out less expensive with way more RAM and storage.

Prepping for new models to be announced.
Labor Day. Happens every year.

Best Buy had same or better iPad prices last week for their anniversary sale. Picked up one for my wife’s bday for $249. The lte model had deeper discount but we have no need.

I am sorely tempted to pull the trigger on that $2k 2019 15” MBP base model. I’ve been holding out to learn more about the impending 16”. My current 2013 13” base model rMBP is on its last leg and I use it as the daily driver for my small business.

If the 16” is very expensive (quite likely) I’ll be bummed I didn’t march down there and buy now.

Why my omniscient powers have to wane whenever it’s time for an upgrade frustrates he hell out of me.

I pulled the trigger on the MacBook Air with 16/512 GB. Too good of a price drop to pass. Underpowered, yes, but for more power I’ll keep using my 2015 iMac 5k which still works perfectly like the first day

That's not a bad idea. It's still not as fast as the internal unless you get a Thunderbolt enclosure, which is pricey. The fastest you can go with USB-C, in an ideal setup under perfect conditions, is 1250MB/s. That's about half what my 2019 iMac runs.

Hi all! Will be visiting the US on October. Wondering if it’s better to wait til then to buy a macbook or buy it online now with the sale? Still won’t be able to get the laptop til October though. Will just ship to a friend’s house to get the sale.

Any idea if prices will drop as low as these by October if there’s a new macbook in September?

Don’t really need the latest. The MBA looks good with the 500gb and 16gb ram. Would love to have a SSD drive but it’s more expensive. Just need to use the laptop for office files (word, excel), movies, photos. Basic stuff.

I went ahead and bought the 16GB RAM, 512GB Flash Storage MBA (late 2018) for $1149.99 just now on the Best Buy website. The price is just toooo good. I just hope I won't have problems with the keyboard.

You have a four-year warranty on the keyboard if you do, so you're covered.

If I buy another iMac, it will not have a fusion drive.
