Looking for an all in one printer for scan/copy/print - some photo work but mostly text.

Like to hear from anyone's good/bad experiences.

Thanks

I live in China, and my selection is pretty limited (at places where I can use my credit card!), so I bought a really really cheapo Canon M150. I expected it to be really crappy, but in fact the SW for scanning works great, and the print quality is fine.

It's nothing very special, just a single color / black cartridge. Copy is about as intuitive as you could imagine (place doc, hit button), and color copies look great (almost indistingushable from the original!). They have a software program called MP navigator that you can use for scanning, and you can do multi-page scans pretty easily (no document feeder, just load one after the other and it pumps out a multi-page PDF).

If you're looking for super-good print quality, like printing photos, then this is probably not the printer for you. But if you just want a basic scan/print/fax, this one has worked out for me.

Hard to beat at 9000CNY (about $115, it's probably ~ $100 in US).

You can get the MP150 for about $89 in Best Buy and Staples. Definitely get it! I second that. I have it, and it's a fantastic printer for its price. Canon is by far one of the best printer brands. I hate Epson, and will never ever go back to them after two screwed up Epson printers.

EDIT: Ah.. UK. Check out Dixons. £45.99.

I love my Epson all-in-one but if it's your only printer, a Canon product would do you better. Either can clog if you don't use them frequently but with Canon, you can replace the print head yourself.

I have an HP PSC 2410, and it has not failed me yet, and it's nearly 4 years old.

I doubt they're still available new, but thats a good PSC right there.

HP makes some pretty good printers. We had an all-in-one (w/o fax) that lasted close to 8 years. At work, they've got an HP that's from like, 1994, that's still working. 😱
