23" ACD too much for a Mac Mini?

I'm getting a used Mac Mini to tide me over from my dead PB until the Montevina MBPs come out in...whenever. I wanted a monitor for the new MBP anyway, so I'm willing to splurge. However, can a first gen Mac Mini support the resolution of a 23, or should I go for the 20?

That's for the current one, presumably. Do the G4 ones have the same graphics power?

Using Archive.org, I just checked the spec page for the G4 mini and it says that it can run a 20'' or 23'' as well.
