Does anyone know what the default setting for brightness is?

Just this morning I noticed that my 23" was not quite as bright as my 20" iMac screen. I had previously thought it was brighter than my iMac. I went to adjust the brightness and it was already at full brightness.

Again, the default setting and is there some sort of monitor diagnosis software I can run to make sure nothing is wrong? Thanks in advance.

When the 20" Front Row iMacs came out they had better displays in them than the 20" ACDs - better contrast ratios and brighter. I assume this might the case with the 23" ACD as well, in which case, this should be normal. I think Apple did a silent refresh to the ACDs though and upgraded some of their specs a couple weeks ago IIRC.

the 23" ACD has 270 cd/m2 brightness and 400:1 contrast.

the 20" intel imac has 280 cd/m2 brightness and 800:1 contrast.

I believe the default is full brightness...

The answer. Thank you.

my ACD is very very bright, i have it set two bars from minimum most of the time, then again i bought it last week, it may of had a silent upgrade, but it seems brighter than my friends imac g5 (the x600XT non front row rev).
