A year or so ago, I bought a 23" ACD and it's been operating wonderfully, no fuss at all.

Recently I bought a 2006 Mac Pro, slapped a hard drive into it, connected the ACD, installed Lion and WOW!... The resolution was awesome! But.. it's maxed at 1920X1200 per: http://support.apple.com/kb/SP77

So I pull up "About This Mac" and select "More Info" then "Displays". WTH? It states it's at 2560X1600! No way.. I refer back to the above link. I posted it in another thread and a few people stated it might be a "bug" that another graphics card has. It was recommended that I take a full screen; screen shot.

Well, at this time, I had already installed Snow Leopard and hadn't had time to install Lion on another partition again. So last night, I had time. I took a SS in SL (1920X1200 in "Get info") and then created another partition and installed Lion.

Once I had Lion up, with no updates, I took another SS. 2560X1600 again! Maybe it was a bug in the OS without updates. So I installed all of the Apps Store Updates. Samething again.

Now, I'm not complaining, I LOVE it. (I even decided to stay with Lion because of the resolution. :p) I'm just a little worried that running it at the res it's not supposed to be able to do will shorten the life of it. The ACD runs a little warm as is anyways but, I haven't felt an increase in heat. (If it has, I can't tell.)

Should I be worried or just be happy?

Ohh and I'll attach a screen shot.
