Is that reason enough to call Applecare?

My friend said I should, but I thought that was being a bit petty.

I am I missing something? I thought the MBPs were solid metal (Al alloy).
 
Give them a call, it should not be doing that unless you have abused it. If it were mine, then I would call. You paid a price for it, it shouldn't do that this soon. Give them a call.
 
I will post pics later, my cam is in my car and Im too lazy to go out right now and get it. But when I go to the market eventually I will retrieve it..:D

There was another long post about this, but the answer is that the case is not painted aluminum. Portions of the case, like the edge around the keyboard is painted plastic, but most of it is anodized aluminum.
