UPDATE!
Well after a while of waiting (the bag was not in stock) i finally ordered the exact bag (brown and fairway plaid its called)from bigwinds.com. Everyone knows what that means!? REVIEW TIME!
To start, i am currently using a Macbook 1.83ghz, 60GB, 1GB RAM. I use an older iPod Nano, black, 1GB in an Incase flip case (very nice, its black and green, from Best buy).
Upon placing the order for the aforementioned sleeve (black, neoprene, anti-shock sleeve) i was skeptical, only because it was coming off ebay. It arrived, with a 'run' in it, much like what happends to stockings, but after some threads and testing i concluded it has no effect on the performance and kept it (i did get a full refund from the seller, AND got to keep the sleeve as well as getting positive feedback). My macbook slides into that sleeve nicely, and usually stays in it all during use. The heat stays under 60C for hours on end during the day, under student school uses.
The sleeve is excellent, the foam is firm to the touch but can be depressed to absorb impacts from bumps and things moving around in the backpack easily. Its excellent in that department. It has a very large zipper cover, made of an elastic-y material that protects the macbook from zipper scratches. The sleeve looks great, works awesome and ended up being free. I love it, and recommend it if anyone wants an anti-shock sleeve for the macbook. It does however, have excess room and does not provide a tight fit, but i cannot see how that would be a negative (i doubt it slides, and i cant see how would scratch it, the material in general doesnt scratch)...?
The backpack, as seen in above posts is the best part. I have gotten numerous compliments from many people! If it helps i am a university student, i skateboard and sing in a band.. that will give ya the kind of people i spend time with. BUT..
The bag HAS a laptop compartment, which is actually completely separate from the 'book' part. It is located directly against the wearers back, and has a reasonable amount of padding between the laptop part and the persons back. The padding between the books and the computer is slightly less, but in a sleeve it is more then enough. The macbook and sleeve fit snugly in this compartment, and this laptop compartment actually has a flap that is attached to inside of the zipper to almost wrap the laptop with a padded 'blanket' that protects it from zipper scratches if not in a case.
The bag has excellent zippers that feel strong and will not appear to break for years. The bag is not as 'fat' as many bags i have seen it still fits my laptop in a sleeve in one compartment, and at 2 concrete design textbooks (easily 1000 pages each, hardcover) as well as a pencil case, clipboard with some papers, all in the other compartment.
In total it has one 'book' compartment, and one padded laptop compartment (which has padded on the bottom, so your laptop doesnt get bumped when you put the bag down).
It has a top pouch that is lined with a super soft fur type material, designed to hold glasses. I mostly carry my watch in it, my iPod, and my glasses in a case, with room to spare. It has 2 other pockets that can hold cords and CD's, cell phone, snacks, pens.. or little things like that, usually i only use one pocket while the other goes empty.
It has side pockets that do a great job of holding bottles, keys.. or anything else you wish to toss into them. They are not all mesh so there is no fear of them ripping.
The bag and sleeve are excellent, i have no regrets and they cost me in total, all together 80$ American. They work superbly and look very stylish. The bag i believe is roughly 27litres (1600cu inches) and hold my macbook as well as all my books for the day, while feeling very comfortable on my shoulders. The straps seem to be more of a gel like material then a classic 'padding' but are comfortable non the less.. I recommend this combination to anyone looking for a sleeve and bag for their laptops. The bag looks to able to fit the new macbooks and Pros, i would however, doubt that any 17 inch laptop could fit.. sorry..
I hope this helps, and wasnt tooo much of a struggle to read, its early and i am still tired. Besides i am in engineering, not english
Cheers!
