hi,
while in private mode i found out that some cookies still seem to slip through quite frequently, even with "block all cookies" enabled in addition to that.

anyone else notice this too?

not sure if this has always the case as i've not been using it that regularly, but at least i hadn't noticed this before.

using Safari 16 on Monterey 12.6

Apple: “When you browse privately, the details of your browsing aren’t saved
Some cookies, and obviously data (text, images), are essential for websites to function. But they will not be saved when you close the private window/session.

With “Block all cookies.” enabled, playing videos on YouTube doesn’t work. :)

I don’t use private browsing in Safari, but I have a shortcut to easily Clear History (history and related cookies) whenever I consider necessary.

it is not a vital feature for me either, and i've been using the clear history function sometimes before that, which can also delete the complete history and all cookies in one go

i just found it baffling that this seemingly doesn't work 100% reliably and wondered wether this is a new bug, or always has been this way before?

but thanks for the link to the script, will visit these locations later on today manually and see what kind of stuff i might find there! 👍

There's an app out there called [of course] "Cookie" that can give you complete control over the removal of cookies and other browsing data.

Here's a sample of one of its setup screens:

I have it set up to remove the items you see selected above each time my browser quits (in this case, Safari).
