Hi I love my 2017 15" MBP Retina to bits, so much so that I'm returning the Lenovo 24" 1440p monitor I bought during the first week of lockdown so I can something more akin to the Retina display. 1440p @ 24" does not look good to my eyes, with dark mode mojave, white text on dark backgrounds looks faint and pixelated. Images like avatars and profile photos look blocky. Dock icons the same. Can you convince me as to go for 24" or 27" @4K? I can get the Dell P2415Q for around £360, or a Philips E-line 278E1A for less at £279. A Lenovo T27p-10 for around £300 (with usb-c). Like I say, I love the sharpness and PPI on the MBP 15" so what would you recommend I go for? Thanks

I noticed the same when I hooked up my MBP 13 (2019) to a Samsung 32" QHD (1440p, 144hz) curved monitor. I really thought that QHD would be on par with the retina but booooooy were I wrong. I since changed out the monitor to an Asus 28" 4K display and it´s a HUGE difference. On paper the retina display isnt 4K but comparing the built in screen on the MBP to the 4K display I have, i´ll say they are the same quality. Apple really excell at their screen quality.

I would go for the Lenovo display for the USB-C connector. Either that or the Dell monitor. 24" for me would be a bit to small.

Thanks dude! The Lenovo is very new and not much info out there for it, and there's also the wildcard option of a philips e-line 276E8VJSB for £230 and this has great reviews! Decisions decisions!

The Lenovo looks the better deal of those posted. USB-C is good to have, but the height adjustable stand would be the decider for me.

Where have you seen it at £300? It appears to be £500 wherever I look. I might consider one at that price.

You do not say what you are using the monitor for. TN screens are usually considered the best for gaming as they have fast response times. IPS screens are usually best for graphics work as they are more colour accurate. All the screens mentioned are IPS.

Why not go for the LG UltraFine 4K? It's amazing.

Would love to but £300 is the the upper limit having only spent £150 originally lol :)

It's available on the lenovo retail uk website if you go through a rewards gateway type deal! I think I will grab it, £3000 bang on for what seems like a high enough spec 27" 4K with USB-c seems like a good investment with lots of future proofing :)
