24 Cinema Display Sound Quality

Hi,
I just purchased a 24in Cinema Display for my MBP and I was wondering how the Sound Quality is? Is it similar to the sound quality of the iMacs? Or should I go out and get a set of nice speakers. Thanks

Every built-in speaker I ever heard was crap. I would at least buy something that has some bass in it.

Search - there are a few threads about this...as for the sound quality, Engadget said this:

Audio is delivered automatically over USB 2.0 from one's laptop to the screen, and while we can only chuckle at the ".1" part of the "2.1" audio system, the quality is darn impressive. When hooking up your notebook, audio is instantly ported from the lappie's speakers to the monitor's speakers when the USB connector of the tri-prong cable is hooked up, and the clarity is superb. It gets plenty loud for desk use, and it does a noteworthy job of dispersing sound in a way that envelopes the user. In other words, it actually sounds like stereo, not just a puny tweeter doing its best to crank out full-range monaural sound.

I personally own one and found that its audio abilities have exceeded my expectations.

The speakers on the 24" LED ACD is good as a $60 speakers but more than good enough if you dont want to buy external speakers.

As for me I already have the bose companion 3 series 2.
