Happened to have it on with the glass off the other day for some work, and was blown away by how great (and not yellow) the screen looks without the front glass.

Which got me wondering... is there any DIY way to get rid of the yellow? Clearly I want to keep the glass to protect the screen, and I'm long since out of warranty...

I recently just had my early 09 24" iMac serviced. The screen had a residue and they cleaned the glass, then I had a new LCD put in to replace the old one with marks toward the top near the exhaust vents. The newer lcd panel looks a lot whiter, as well as the screen looks way blacker, since I do not have the film on.

Have you tried cleaning the glass?
