24-Hour time? Stuck!

Can anyone help:

As I went to bed last night I noticed that my Iphone clock was set to military time (24-Hours) and I went to the settings to change it but that option was grayed out and I could not change it!
Can anyone help me solve this riddle??

Change the time zone to Hong Kong, China.

Goto settings —-> International —-> Region Format and set that to United States
