I have a 24" imac It has 2.4 duo core Intel CPU 3gig ram.

Recently I had problems with the DVD drive not eject the disc. after I fixed it I had problems with the computer being put into standby mode every 30 mins. I downloaded istats and the CPU fan is not spinning. I downloaded SMC fan controller and adjusted the settings of the CPU fan up but it doesn't go up. The CPU fan spins at 0 - 149 RPM. The temp hits 79degrees at times.

I know for a fact that the CPU fan is not working. I even took it to the apple store and they agreed that the CPU fan is not working. They said they ordered another CPU fan and put it in but it still doesn't not spin. They said they could not honor the warranty because someone prior had opened up the computer and damaged the logic board. They kept on telling me it's the logic board and they it could cost me $900 to get it fixed. It sounds to me like that don't want to get it fixed. I took the computer in on Thursday. They said the ordered the CPU fan and that it was going to come in on Saturday. Saturday they said it didn't come in. Monday they said it came in and they replaced it but I spoke to someone else and they said they put in a different fan at the store and that it's still not spinning.

My question is how would I go about getting this fixed. My imac is still within the warranty period. Do I take it to the apple store or would I call them?

I know for sure it is the CPU fan.
