Just bought a used 24" iMac off eBay... seems to be a reputable guy. Anyway, got it in, and low and behold, I have a yellowed screen and 5 dark horizontal lines. He says it wasn't that way when he shipped it and that it must be UPS's fault - I called BS; he may not have noticed it before (its not terribly bad with a colorful wallpaper) but I saw it as soon as I booted it the first time on the grey Apple screen.
I've attached a pic - there's not anything that can be done other than a screen replacement, right? I've tweaked and tweaked, but to no avail. BTW, the desktop in the pic is supposed to be solid white. Its not as bad in the pic as it was when I first started it up - it seems to get better as it "warms up," but it never goes away. Could this possibly have happened in shipping? I don't think so myself...
It was insured, plus I paid with my credit card on PayPal. Shouldn't have anything to worry about, right? Suggestions are appreciated...
