24 Inch LCD Behavior

I have a 24inch LCD ACD display connected to my Mac Pro.

This display all used to work OK, but now, read on.

I had to send this 24inch LCD ACD display away to have the panel replaced.

Since it has returned when I look in About This Mac/Displays it shows that I have an iMac connected as the display and
now the brightness cannot be controlled.

Seen one other with this problem on another forum, and have tried to contact him to see if he solved this problem, no reply as yet....

ADDITION : If the 24inch LED ACD is connected to my Macbook it all works as it should

Try using the F13/F14 (I think) keys on your keyboard. If that doesn't work, try using the "Detect Screens" (again, I think) in the Displays control panel.

If none of that works, try restarting with the Command, Option, P, and R keys held down.

If THAT doesn't work, I'm not sure what to try next... anyone else?

Maybe the guys at the service provider chose the wrong panel (24" iMac and 24" CD use the same panel, different backlight technology though), or maybe the panel you've got has the wrong firmware.

Personally, I would contact the service provider and insist of a replacement again, as it is obviously an error within of display and not the computer.

If the 24inch LED ACD is connected to my Macbook it all works as it should.
