I'm looking at getting a large display monitor to go with my new MBP, the obvious choice is the 24" Apple LED Display. But I'm not into buying equipment just because it's the "cool new thing". I've also heard good things about Dell's 24" UltraSharp 2408WFP, any thoughts? Experiences? Other options? Pros, cons?

Also, is there a difference between a LCD screen and the back lit Apple LED display?

Thanks for the help!

It really depends on what you need it for. The Dell looks great, but it doesn't have the screen quality that the Apple does. On the other hand the glossy screen on the Apple may detract making it unusable if you rely on seeing on screen what you will see in print. Personally, I sold my iMac and my MBP has become my main system. It just made sense to have the beautiful Apple display to compliment it. Now I keep my power cord in the bag and the ACD is a dock.

In my search of the perfect external display, yes the 24" led acd is the best out there for the quality/price.
