24"LED display blink black 2011 15.4" MBP base

Been trying out some of the new 2011 MBP's mostly in clamshell mode with 24" Apple LED cinema display. All works well but with the 15.4" 2011 base model MBP the monitor blinks every once in a while to black and then comes back. No rhyme reason or pattern I can tell but in ~3 hours this morning it has done it 4 times. I tried smc reset and had a blink within 5 minutes of starting up.

Others are seeing this??

PS>> saw some similar threads but I have no weird flickers or blurs..... just blank for a quick moment and then back to normal. I didn't have this with a 13.3 2011 I tested for 10 days.......

Hi there......

10.6.7 done..... 1st day no blinking..... Today blinking a lot (maybe 10 times this morning)...... Starting to get quite annoying! Had a 13" 2011 MBP for ~10 days and don't remember seeing this.........

OK... so

1) is this ONLY with the 15" base model MBP??
2) If 15" base MBP is this only happen with the 24" LED Apple Cinema Display??

I think all 2011 MBPs are having issues with the Apple LED Cinema displays. 10.6.7 have reduced frequency (in most cases) but the issue is still there.

I returned my 2011 15" for this reason. No issues whatsoever on my new 2011 13".

Looking at your signature...... does response imply you were having this issue on the 27" ACD????? I have only heard of it being on the 24's so far......

Yes, I had the 13" 2011 at first and don't remember any display issue. Wish the 13 would have been enough for me.........

with the money I saved on the MBP 13 I upgraded to the 27".
